Moroni Olsen (27. Juni 1889 – 22. November 1954) war ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler. Olsen wurde in Ogden, Utah, als Sohn der Mormonen Edward Arenholt Olsen und Martha Hoverholst geboren. Sie benannten ihn nach dem Moroni aus dem Buch Mormon. Einige Quellen behaupten, Olsens Geburtsname sei John Willard Clawson gewesen, doch dafür gibt es keine Belege. Olsen besuchte die Weber Stake Academy, die Vorgängerin der Weber State University. Anschließend studierte er an der University of Utah, wo unter anderem Maud May Babcock zu seinen Dozentinnen zählte. Während des Ersten Weltkriegs verkaufte er Kriegsanleihen für die US-Marine. Um diese Zeit studierte und trat er auch im Osten der Vereinigten Staaten auf. 1923 gründete Olsen in Ogden die „Moroni Olsen Players“. Sie traten sowohl im Orpheum Theatre in Ogden als auch an verschiedenen anderen Spielstätten zwischen Salt Lake City und Seattle auf. Nach Engagements am Broadway gab er 1935 sein Filmdebüt in einer Verfilmung von „Die drei Musketiere“. Später spielte er eine andere Rolle in einer Komödie des gleichen Stücks aus dem Jahr 1939, in der Don Ameche D’Artagnan und die Ritz-Brüder drei einfältige Lakaien verkörperten, die für die betrunkenen Musketiere einspringen mussten. Seine bekannteste Rolle war die des Sklaven im Zauberspiegel in Walt Disneys „Schneewittchen und die sieben Zwerge“ (1937). Olsen lieh außerdem dem älteren Engel in „Ist das Leben nicht schön?“ seine Stimme. Olsen war ein aktives Mitglied der Kirche Jesu Christi der Heiligen der Letzten Tage und unterrichtete Jugendliche in der Gemeinde Hollywood. Er führte außerdem mehrere Jahre lang Regie bei der Theateraufführung „Pilgramage Play of Hollywood“.
