Carl Franklin (* 11. April 1949) ist ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler, Drehbuchautor und Film- und Fernsehregisseur. Er absolvierte die University of California, Berkeley, und setzte seine Ausbildung am AFI Conservatory fort, wo er 1986 seinen Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Regie erwarb. Franklin ist vor allem für seine Rolle in „Devil in a Blue Dress“ bekannt, einer Verfilmung des gleichnamigen Romans von Walter Mosley mit Denzel Washington und Don Cheadle in den Hauptrollen.
