Der schottische Schauspieler Nicholas Ralph wuchs in Nairn in den Highlands auf. 2017 schloss er sein Studium am renommierten Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (ehemals RSAMD) ab. In „Der Doktor und das liebe Vieh“ gibt er sein Filmdebüt als Hauptfigur James Herriot. An seiner Seite spielen Samuel West, Anna Madeley, Callum Woodhouse und Rachel Shenton.
