David Michael Hasselhoff wurde am 17. Juli 1952 in Baltimore, Maryland, geboren. Er ist ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler, Sänger und Fernsehpersönlichkeit, der oft als "The Hoff" bezeichnet wird. Hasselhoff erlangte erstmals Bekanntheit durch seine Rolle als Dr. Snapper Foster in der Seifenoper "The Young and the Restless" (1975–1982). Seinen internationalen Durchbruch hatte er jedoch mit den Hauptrollen in den TV-Serien "Knight Rider" und "Baywatch". Neben seiner Schauspielkarriere hat Hasselhoff auch als Sänger Erfolge gefeiert, insbesondere in Deutschland, wo er mit dem Song "Looking for Freedom" große Popularität erlangte.
