Biografie:

Steve Pemberton ist ein BAFTA-prämierter Schauspieler und Autor aus Blackburn, Großbritannien. Er schloss sein Studium der Theaterwissenschaften 1989 am Bretton Hall College in Yorkshire mit einem Bachelor of Arts (Hons) ab. Nach dem Studium produzierte und spielte Steve in kleineren Theaterproduktionen in London und arbeitete nebenbei als Assistenzredakteur des International Film Guide für Variety. 1996 reiste Steve mit seinen Studienfreunden Mark Gatiss, Reece Shearsmith und Jeremy Dyson mit der Comedy-Show „The League of Gentlemen“ nach Edinburgh und gewann ein Jahr später den begehrten Perrier Comedy Prize. Die Gruppe produzierte anschließend eine Radioserie und vier Fernsehserien für die BBC, ging auf drei Live-Tourneen und drehte einen Film. 2009 schrieben und spielten Steve und Reece die mehrfach preisgekrönte schwarze Komödie „Psychoville“, die in zwei Staffeln und einem Halloween-Special ausgestrahlt wurde. Die gefeierte Anthologie-Show „Inside No. 9“ des Duos startete 2014, und Steve wurde 2019 mit einem BAFTA für die beste männliche Comedy-Performance ausgezeichnet. Die Show gewann außerdem BAFTAs in den Kategorien „Beste Comedy-Serie“ und „Bestes Comedy-Drehbuch“. Steve lebt mit seiner Partnerin und seinen drei Kindern in Nordlondon.
