Edmund Breese (18. Juni 1871 – 6. April 1936) war ein US-amerikanischer Bühnen- und Filmschauspieler der Stummfilmzeit. Nach einer langen Bühnenkarriere mit abwechslungsreichen Auftritten am Broadway wechselte er zum Film. Dort spielte er unter anderem mit James O’Neill in „Der Graf von Monte Christo“ (1893), mit Richard Bennett in „Der Löwe und die Maus“ (1906), mit Helen Ware in „Der dritte Grad“ (1909), mit Elliott Dexter in „Das Mastermind“ (1913), mit Estelle Winwood und Nat C. Goodwin in dem populären Theaterstück „Why Marry?“ (1917) aus der Zeit des Ersten Weltkriegs sowie mit Donald Gallaher in „So This Is London“ (1922). Zwischen 1914 und 1935 wirkte er in 129 Filmen mit. Am bekanntesten ist er für seine Rolle als beratender deutscher Geschäftsmann zu Beginn des Kriegsfilms „Im Westen nichts Neues“. Seine letzte Rolle spielte er auf der Bühne in „Die Nacht des 16. Januar“ von September 1935 bis April 1936. Kurz vor dem Ende der Spielzeit erkrankte Breese an einer Bauchfellentzündung, an der er am 6. April 1936 verstarb.
