Bekannt ist sie für ihre Rollen als Olivia Dunham in der Fox-Science-Fiction-Serie *Fringe* (2008–2013), als Wendy Carr in der Netflix-Krimi-Thrillerserie *Mindhunter* (2017–2019) sowie als Tess in der postapokalyptischen HBO-Dramaserie *The Last of Us* (2023). Ihre Darstellung in *Fringe* brachte ihr vier Saturn Awards als beste Fernsehschauspielerin sowie Nominierungen für den Critics’ Choice Television Award als beste Hauptdarstellerin in einer Dramaserie ein.
