Jeffrey Hunter war ein vielseitiger US-amerikanischer Schauspieler, der die Film- und Fernsehbranche maßgeblich prägte. Bekannt wurde er vor allem durch seine Darstellung des Martin Pawley in dem Westernklassiker „Der Schwarze Falke“. Sein Talent reichte jedoch weit über Western hinaus. Er überzeugte auch in anderen bemerkenswerten Filmen wie: „König der Könige“ (1961): In diesem biblischen Epos verkörperte Hunter die zentrale Rolle Jesu Christi. „Der letzte Hurra“ (1958): Hier spielte er an der Seite von Spencer Tracy. „Vierzehn Stunden“ (1955): In diesem spannenden Krimi gab er sein Filmdebüt. Neben seiner Filmarbeit wirkte Hunter auch in mehreren Fernsehserien mit, darunter „Bonanza“ und „Die Leute von der Shiloh Ranch“. Tragischerweise verstarb er 1969 im Alter von nur 42 Jahren an einer Hirnblutung.
