Thomas Mitchell (11. Juli 1892 – 17. Dezember 1962) war ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler, Dramatiker und Drehbuchautor. Zu seinen bekanntesten Rollen in einer langen Karriere zählen Gerald O’Hara, der Vater von Scarlett O’Hara in „Vom Winde verweht“, der trunksüchtige Doc Boone in John Fords „Stagecoach“ und Onkel Billy in „Ist das Leben nicht schön?“. Mitchell war der erste Mensch, der einen Oscar, einen Emmy und einen Tony Award gewann.
