Tom Kennedy (15. Juli 1885 – 6. Oktober 1965) war ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler, bekannt für seine Rollen in Hollywood-Komödien der Stummfilmzeit. Er arbeitete mit Produzenten wie Mack Sennett und Hal Roach zusammen und spielte hauptsächlich an der Seite von Komikern wie den Marx Brothers, W. C. Fields, Mabel Normand, Shemp Howard, Laurel und Hardy sowie den Three Stooges. Kennedy übernahm aber auch dramatische Nebenrollen. Über 50 Jahre lang, von 1915 bis 1965, wirkte er in über 320 Filmen und Fernsehserien mit, oft ohne im Abspann erwähnt zu werden. Sein erster Film war die Schwarzweiß-Kurzkomödie „His Luckless Love“. Kennedy spielte in allen neun Filmen von Torchy Blane die Rolle des Gahagan, des poetischen Polizisten, dessen Running Gag „Was für ein Tag! Was für ein Tag!“ war. In Filmquellen wird er oft fälschlicherweise als Bruder des Komikers Edgar Kennedy genannt. Obwohl die beiden Männer nicht verwandt waren, verband sie offenbar eine enge Freundschaft. Tom wirkte in vielen von Edgars zweiteiligen Komödien mit, die das häusliche Milieu thematisierten. Tom Kennedy spielte außerdem an der Seite von Stooge Shemp Howard in mehreren Kurzfilmen für Columbia Pictures, darunter „Society Mugs“, und war mit den Three Stooges in den Filmen „Loose Loot“ und „Spooks!“ zu sehen. Mit El Brendel drehte er vier Kurzfilme, darunter „Phoney Cronies“ im Jahr 1942. Im Fernsehen war er unter anderem in Episoden von „Perry Mason“, „Maverick“, „Mein Lieblingsmarsianer“ und „Rauchende Colts“ zu sehen. Tom Kennedy drehte bis zu seinem Tod Filme; sein letzter Film war der Western „Der Kopfgeldjäger“.
