Charles Elmer „Rip“ Taylor Jr. (13. Januar 1931 – 6. Oktober 2019) war ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler und Komiker, bekannt für seine überschwängliche und extravagante Persönlichkeit, darunter sein wilder Schnurrbart, sein Toupet und seine Angewohnheit, sich (und andere) mit Konfetti zu überschütten. In den 1970er-Jahren war Taylor ein häufiger Gast in Fernseh-Spielshows wie „Hollywood Squares“, „To Tell the Truth“ und „The Gong Show“ und vertrat Charles Nelson Reilly bei „The Match Game“. Er spielte die Rolle des Sheldon, eines Meeresgeistes, der in einer Muschel in der Fernsehserie „Sid and Marty Krofft's Sigmund and the Sea Monsters“ und war regelmäßig in der Fernsehserie „The Brady Bunch Hour“ als Nachbar und Entertainer Jack Merrill zu sehen. Außerdem moderierte er eine kurzlebige Parodie auf Schönheitswettbewerbe mit dem Titel „The $1.98 Beauty Show“, die 1978 von Chuck Barris, dem Produzenten und Moderator der „Gong Show“, ins Leben gerufen wurde.
