Biografie:: John Mackenzie war ein schottischer Filmregisseur, der vor allem für seinen Gangsterfilm „Rififi am Karfreitag“ aus dem Jahr 1980 bekannt ist. Mackenzie arbeitete ab Ende der 1960er Jahre im britischen Filmgeschäft, zunächst als Regieassistent von Ken Loach bei Produktionen wie „Up the Junction“ und „Komm nach Hause, Cathy“, bevor er sich selbstständig machte und sowohl in Großbritannien als auch in den USA tätig war.
