Frank Árpád Darabont (geb. Ferenc Árpád Darabont) ist ein US-amerikanischer Drehbuchautor, Regisseur und Produzent ungarischer Herkunft. Er wurde für drei Oscars und einen Golden Globe nominiert. Zu Beginn seiner Karriere war er hauptsächlich als Drehbuchautor für Horrorfilme wie Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987), The Blob (1988) und Die Fliege II (1989) tätig. Als Regisseur ist er bekannt für seine Verfilmungen von Stephen King-Novellen und -Romanen wie Die Verurteilten (1994), Green Mile (1999) und Der Nebel (2007). Darabont entwickelte und produzierte außerdem die erste Staffel und die erste Hälfte der zweiten Staffel der AMC-Horror-Dramaserie The Walking Dead (2010–2011). Er führte bei zwei Episoden der fünften und letzten Staffel der Netflix-Science-Fiction-Horror-Dramaserie Stranger Things Regie.
