Shelby Fredrick „Sheb“ Wooley (10. April 1921 – 16. September 2003) war ein US-amerikanischer Sänger, Songwriter und Schauspieler. Er nahm eine Reihe von humorvollen Liedern auf, darunter die 1958 erschienene Rock-’n’-Roll-Single „The Purple People Eater“[1] und unter dem Namen Ben Colder den Country-Hit „Almost Persuaded No. 2“. Als Schauspieler verkörperte er Cletus Summers, den Direktor der Hickory High School und Assistenztrainer, im Film „Hoosiers“ (1986), Ben Miller, den Bruder von Frank Miller, im Film „High Noon“, Travis Cobb in „Der Texaner“ und den Talentscout Pete Nolan in der Fernsehserie „Rawhide“.
