Naftuli Hertz Juran war ein in Österreich-Ungarn geborener Film- und Fernsehregisseur. Als Art Director gewann er 1942 zusammen mit Richard Day und Thomas Little den Oscar für die beste Art Direction für John Fords „So grün war mein Tal“. Seine Arbeit an „Auf Messers Schneide“ erhielt 1946 ebenfalls eine Oscar-Nominierung. In den 1950er Jahren begann er mit der Regie und wurde für Science-Fiction- und Fantasyfilme wie „Angriff der 20-Meter-Frau“ bekannt. Er war der Bruder des Wirtschaftsingenieurs Joseph M. Juran.
