Rob Brydon, mit vollständigem Namen Robert Brydon Jones, wurde am 3. Mai 1965 in Baglan, Wales, geboren und ist ein britischer Schauspieler, Komiker, Radio- und Fernsehmoderator, Sänger, Sprecher, Autor und Imitator. Nach ersten Erfolgen als Radiomoderator gelang ihm der Durchbruch mit der schwarzhumorigen Comedyserie „Human Remains“ (2000), in der er zusammen mit Julia Davis verschiedene skurrile Paare verkörperte. Große Popularität brachte ihm auch die Mockumentary-Serie „Marion and Geoff“ sowie deren Ableger „The Keith Barret Show“, in denen er auf subtile und tragikomische Weise die Titelfigur spielte. Im britischen Fernsehen ist Brydon seit 2009 ein bekanntes Gesicht als Moderator der beliebten BBC-Panelshow „Would I Lie to You?“. Mit Steve Coogan spielte er ab 2010 die Hauptrolle in der mehrfach ausgezeichneten Comedy-Reihe „The Trip“ und deren Fortsetzungen, in denen beide sich selbst parodieren. In der Sitcom „Gavin & Stacey“ ist er als Bryn West zu sehen, was ihm eine BAFTA-Nominierung einbrachte. Neben seiner Karriere als Komiker und Moderator hat Brydon an zahlreichen Filmproduktionen mitgewirkt, unter anderem in „Cinderella“ (2015), „The Huntsman & the Ice Queen“ (2016), „Holmes & Watson“ (2019) und „Barbie“ (2023). Außerdem ist er ein gefragter Synchronsprecher und wurde 2013 für seine Verdienste im Unterhaltungsbereich zum Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) ernannt.
