John Gatins (* 16. April 1968) ist ein US-amerikanischer Drehbuchautor, Regisseur und Schauspieler. Für sein Drehbuch zum Filmdrama „Flight“ (2012) wurde er für den Oscar in der Kategorie „Bestes Originaldrehbuch“ nominiert. Gatins gab sein Regiedebüt mit der Verfilmung seines Drehbuchs zu „Dreamer“ (2005). Er schrieb oder war Co-Autor von „Coach Carter“ (2005), „Real Steel“ (2011), „Kong: Skull Island“ und „Power Rangers“ (2017). Als Schauspieler arbeitete er dreimal mit Eddie Murphy zusammen: in „Norbit“ (2007), „Meet Dave“ (2008) und „A Thousand Words“ (2012).
