Jessie Alice Tandy, bekannt als Jessica Tandy, war eine englisch-US-amerikanische Schauspielerin. Sie trat in über 100 Bühnenproduktionen auf und hatte mehr als 60 Rollen in Film und Fernsehen. Jessica gewann 1948 einen Tony Award als Beste Hauptdarstellerin in einem Theaterstück für ihre Rolle als Blanche DuBois in der Broadway-Originalproduktion von Endstation Sehnsucht. Außerdem gewann sie Auszeichnungen für The Gin Game und Foxfire. Zu ihren Filmen gehörten Die Vögel, Cocoon, Grüne Tomaten und Nobody’s Fool. Mit 80 Jahren wurde sie die älteste Schauspielerin, die einen Oscar als Beste Hauptdarstellerin für Miss Daisy und ihr Chauffeur gewann.
