Rosario Isabel Dawson ist eine US-amerikanische Schauspielerin. Ihre Mutter ist puerto-ricanischer und afrokubanischer Abstammung, ihr Vater hat irische Wurzeln. Karriere Dawsons Karriere begann 1995, als sie von Larry Clark auf New Yorks Straßen entdeckt wurde. Sie bekam daraufhin eine Hauptrolle in dessen Film Kids. Dank des großen Filmerfolgs konnte sich Dawson am Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute zur Schauspielerin ausbilden lassen. 2005 wurde sie für ihre schauspielerische Leistung als Mimi in Rent mit einem Satellite Award in der Kategorie Beste Nebendarstellerin (Komödie/Musical) ausgezeichnet. 2006 kamen sechs Filme mit Dawson ins Kino. Unter anderem spielte sie neben Robert Downey junior in Dito Montiels Kids – In den Straßen New Yorks. Des Weiteren war sie in Kevin Smiths' Clerks II zu sehen. 2006 schrieb sie zusammen mit Co-Autor David Atchison die Graphic-Novelle „O.C.T.: Occult Crimes Taskforce“. O.C.T. wurde 2013 verfilmt, bei der Adaption hat Dawson die Hauptrolle übernommen und zusammen mit Gale Anne Hurd als ausführende Produzentin agiert. In den Marvel-Netflix-Serien spielt sie seit 2015 die Rolle der Krankenschwester Claire Temple.
