Roy Rogers, geboren als Leonard Franklin Slye (5. November 1911 – 6. Juli 1998), war ein US-amerikanischer Sänger und Cowboy-Darsteller sowie Namensgeber der Restaurantkette Roy Rogers. Er und seine Frau Dale Evans, sein Golden Retriever Trigger und sein Deutscher Schäferhund Bullet traten in über 100 Filmen und der „Roy Rogers Show“ auf. Die Show lief neun Jahre lang im Radio, bevor sie von 1951 bis 1957 im Fernsehen ausgestrahlt wurde. In seinen Produktionen hatte er meist einen Sidekick, oft Pat Brady (der einen Jeep namens „Nellybelle“ fuhr), Andy Devine oder den mürrischen George „Gabby“ Hayes. Rogers trug den Spitznamen „König der Cowboys“, Evans den Spitznamen „Königin des Westens“.
