Joseph Frank „Buster“ Keaton (4. Oktober 1895 – 1. Februar 1966) war ein US-amerikanischer Komiker, Schauspieler, Filmemacher, Produzent und Drehbuchautor. Bekannt wurde er vor allem durch seine Stummfilme, in denen er mit seinem stets stoischen, ausdruckslosen Gesichtsausdruck für Slapstick-Komik sorgte, was ihm den Spitznamen „The Great Stone Face“ einbrachte. Vom Magazin „Entertainment Weekly“ wurde er als siebtbester Regisseur aller Zeiten ausgezeichnet. 1999 wählte das American Film Institute Keaton auf Platz 21 der größten männlichen Filmstars aller Zeiten.
