George O’Brien (19. April 1899 – 4. September 1985) war ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler, der während der Stummfilmzeit und bis in die Tonfilmära der 1930er-Jahre hinein populär war. Heute ist er vor allem als Hauptdarsteller in F. W. Murnaus Film „Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans“ (1927) bekannt. Er spielte außerdem in „East Side, West Side“ (1927), „The Johnstown Floor“ (1926) und John Fords „The Iron Horse“ (1924) mit. Einen Tag vor seinem siebten Geburtstag erschütterte das große Erdbeben von 1906 San Francisco. Er und seine Familie überlebten nur knapp und waren monatelang obdachlos. Er diente im Ersten und Zweiten Weltkrieg.
