One thing is clear: contemporary artists can dispense with their manual skills and place as much or more importance on intellectual work than on the artistic object itself. So what does an artist do? Artefacto 71 attempts to answer this question by reviewing the work of a working-class artist such as the Catalan Martà Anson, establishing a dialogue between the artist and the filmmaker as equals.
