Hokkaido in Japan’s far north is a paradise for wild birds. Some endangered species of large birds in Hokkaido have benefited from conservation efforts over the past few decades, but new threats are putting that momentum at risk. Diseases and collisions with vehicles, power lines, and wind turbines are just some of the challenges. This documentary shows how veterinarians and researchers have developed initiatives to help the birds grow in number.
