A Small Bronze Mask (1960)
The film has a dual focus. First, portrait of a young artist, Nathaniel Kaz, at the brink of a successful career in sculpture. Second, a visual treatise on his sculpture. The work shows the merging of the artist's life-style and philosophical approach to his work, with views of his sculpture in the context of his Brooklyn studio. At the time of filming, Kaz was approaching his fortieth year. -- (per Kaz.)
