La Simienti del'Augua (2024)
La Simienti del'Augua tells the story of the restoration of Arab irrigation channels in the region of La Vera, Cáceres. Through the ancient practice of water sowing and harvesting, volunteers and local residents are reviving these water management techniques. The documentary shows how diverting rainwater and meltwater down slopes through dug channels promotes slow infiltration into the soil, preventing its rapid loss into rivers. The restoration of irrigation ditches improves environmental sustainability, promotes biodiversity, strengthens social cohesion, and revives cultural heritage. La Simienti del'Augua highlights how community unity and respect for traditions are key to addressing current environmental challenges.
