35-year-old's Ryokan-Madam (2001)
Futaba, the proprietress of an inn in a hot spring town near Chichibu, hears from her husband, the manager, Isamu, that a travel guide writer is coming to the inn secretly to do an interview, and ends up over-entertaining the man who seems to be the man. Isamu is jealous, and Kuniko, a waitress who has a crush on him, approaches him. One day, a guest comes in who turns out to be Kuniko's former colleague. Futaba resolutely confronts Kuniko, who is laughing at her for telling a lie. Futaba and Isamu then swear to continue protecting the inn.
