Owen, a once prestigious and acclaimed stage director, has fallen into depression after more than a decade of creative drought. His ex-lover Su Manling comes back into his life leveraging their old romance, whereas his wife Tracy hovers on the verge of crossing the marital line. Eager to reclaim his dignity, he resolves to write, direct and perform in a brand-new play. However, while holding open auditions for the leading actress, he is powerfully drawn to amateur newcomer Hannah, slowly slipping into a dangerous grey area where stage drama intertwines with real life.
