Im Jahr der Schlange (1982)
On her 40th birthday, director Heide Breitel interviewed female friends of the same age about their experiences. All of them—born in 1941, the Chinese Year of the Snake—lived through war, displacement, the economic miracle, the constraints of the 1950s, and their liberation from those constraints through the student and women’s movements.
