Embroidering the Abyss (2025)
Menyulam Lobang departs from the story of a mother who is forced to leave her bamboo stilt house and move into a concrete structure. This personal transition becomes a reflection on the paradox of modernity, where human development reshapes the earth to sustain comfort like embroidering the abyss . Through fragments of 35mm imagery, the film explores material fragility, time, and memory, suggesting that every structure we build carries traces of loss and unseen damage.
