Met jou is de wereld veel mooier (1947)
The well-known music publisher Eddy Frankel is also a film producer. He is searching for a suitable schlager song for his new film. Several composers have already been contacted, but none of them have delivered the desired result. The publisher is close to despair when he hears a melody played in a primitive way by a group of mischievous boys — friends of his son Rudy. He starts picking out the tune on the piano and lets his imagination run free. Then he murmurs some lyrics to it: “With You, Life Is Much More Beautiful.” At that very moment, Arlette, the fiancée of the singer George Wenders, enters the room hoping to obtain an engagement as a film star. When she hears the words, she believes they are addressed to her personally. She begins to imagine that she is falling in love with Eddy Frankel...
