City Mark: A Rochester Icon (2026)
A documentary film exploring the origin, evolution, and lasting impact of one of Rochester, NY's most recognizable symbols. From its creation in the 1970s to its place in today’s culture, the City Mark’s simple design became a powerful expression of identity, pride, and belonging. Through archival footage, local voices, and new interviews, the documentary traces the mark’s journey — from a government design initiative to a symbol embraced by the community. It’s a design story, but more importantly, it’s a story about people.
