Tôkyô madamu to Ôsaka fujin (1953)
In the western suburbs of Tokyo, Ryukichi’s wife, Fusae, who grew up in the Senba district of Osaka, and Mitsuo's wife, Mieko, who was born in the lower town of Edo, live next door to one another. As their husbands are colleagues in the same department, their relationship, though outwardly cheerful, is one of constant rivalry.
