Pimentas in the eyes (2015)
Pimentas in the eyes is a film in which photography, memory, lived experience, and music intertwine to portray aspects of everyday life in a “outskirts” neighborhood in the metropolitan region of São Paulo: Bairro dos Pimentas, in the city of Guarulhos. Wolf, Ohuaz, Thais, and Fábio share their connections to the neighborhood, their stories, and their dreams. Their narratives engage in a dialogue with the many landscapes that emerge through photographs taken over the years by numerous local residents, as well as through the photography workshops "Pimentas nos Olhos não é refresco", held since 2008 by VISURB – Visual and Urban Research Group at the Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP).
