Retaliation (1982)
Pratishodh (Retaliation) is the story of a one man's attempt to collect money his wife is owed from a government office, set in Calcutta in the 80s. Directed by Surendra Nath Dhir, starring K.K. Raina, Ram Gopal Bajaj, and Kavita Nagpal in the lead roles. Based on "Retaliation" by Doodhnath (Dudhnath) Singh: "Pratishodh: Sapat Chehre Wala Admi," Delhi: Akshar Prakashan 1967. Translated in "A Death in Delhi: Modern Hindi Short Stories," Gordon C. Roadarmel, 1972, University of California Press The film was produced with a loan by the National Film Development Corporation Limited and partially financed by the West Bengal Government under their grant-in-aid scheme.
