Valentina knows all too well what it means to be responsible for those we have tamed. She runs the Time of Cats shelter while also working as a lawyer and raising two children. The shelter began as a cat café in the city center, where 250 cats found new homes over five years. But after a disagreement with the landlord, it had to move to the outskirts and become a shelter, making it less convenient for visitors. Today, Time of Cats is home to more than 90 cats, and despite the help of volunteers, the responsibility for them rests largely on Valentina. Finding funding and dealing with the cats’ daily needs take up much of her life. Now another problem has emerged: the owner plans to sell the building. Once again, the shelter must find a new home.
