Donbass. Peaceful Life. Home On The Edge Of War (2026)
The film follows an elderly man who chose not to leave his village in the Zaporizhzhia region, finding himself caught in war both in 2014 and again in 2022. He tends his family's graves, grows potatoes in his large garden, and somehow manages to fetch water. Long accustomed to shelling and life without electricity, he accepts it with quiet philosophy, observing that humanity lived without electric light for thousands of years. Members of the BARS volunteer combat unit help him extinguish fires caused by shelling. His only constant companion is the Gospel. His reflections on life, eternity, and peace are deeply personal, shaped by years of hardship. A person who carries peace within can create an island of peace even amid the inferno of war.
