2011, Damascus. As protests flood the streets, Samira stands at the heart of a movement demanding change. Charismatic, radical and fiercely funny, she shares an unfiltered account of events as they unfold. Thousands of miles away, a group of London academics follow her story, captivated by a revolution in real time. Then she disappears. Thrilling, funny and provocative, Samira is a new play by Carmen Nasr, directed by Emily Burns, with a cast including May Calamawy, Joshua McGuire, and Sirine Saba. This stage play was performed live at the Dorfman Theatre, National Theatre in London, UK.
