The Afterlife of a Sacrifice

The Afterlife of a Sacrifice (2025)

Documentary

The film explores the daily lives and grief of women in the southern suburbs of Beirut who devote their lives to preserving the memory of Hezbollah fighters who fell during the resistance against Israel. Through archive footage, interviews and portraits, the director draws a connection between contemporary grief, collective resistance and the historical figure of Sayyida Zaynab, or the Battle of Karbala.
