Ϛϗ҂҉ϪҖ (2026)
Set in a dusky urban woodland, the film is a portrait of a wordless conversation had between an anonymous forest dweller and a rotting tree stump. Within the rustling leaves, framed by the distant echo of the nearing suburbia, the material surfaces of the forest become alive with a mysterious writing. Followed by the setting sun, an interspecies communication begins to form by way of an asemic interlogue. A story told through the more-than-human actors within a changing ecological landscape, the film studies textual communication as the construct. Focused through an eco-asemic lens, the film posits nature as a potential writer, challenging the preconceived notions on the anthropocentric origin of language itself. Set in the backdrop of volatile resource extraction and deforestation, can we begin a new dialogue by re-infrastructuring our linguistic code?
