Hundreds of young boys spent some of the most formative years of their youth at the Marist boarding school in Mindelheim. Everyday life seemed normal and routine: a short walk across the street to school, lunch in the dining hall, free time, study time, dinner and table prayers. But after an abuse scandal could no longer be covered up, the school closed its doors. Today it is clear: for decades, the headmaster had been abusing young boys there. What really happened behind the walls of the Marist Order, where one of the largest church scandals took place? And why isn’t the perpetrator already behind bars?
