The Lamp of the Tomb (1989)
Set in rural Punjab, Jagseer, a marginalized low-caste sharecropper's son, navigates a changing rural society as traditional feudal ties give way to exploitation. Struggling against severe caste barriers, land displacement, and an unrequited love for the married Bhani, Jagsa faces a difficult path as his family's livelihood crumbles.
