Icelandic Fisherman (1915)
In Paimpol, Gaud Mévél, a shipowner's daughter raised in Paris, falls in love with the sailor Yann Gaos, who chooses to ignore her because of their different social standing. As soon as he learns she is ruined, he marries her. A few days later, he leaves for Iceland, never to return.
