Jorge loses his wife and daughter in the 1985 earthquake; the tragedy drives him to become a rescuer—a way, he believes, to save his own family—and he goes on to experience disasters all over the world. He attempts to foster a culture of prevention, though with little success; then, in 2017, he is put to the test once again, facing the greatest tragedy of his life.
