Matúš (1996)
A romantic-adventure set in early 14th-century Slovakia, where the powerful lord Matúš Čák Trenčiansky encounters figures drawn from Hurban, Pauliny-Tóth, Záborský, and Jége. As love and loyalty intertwine with political intrigue, their intertwined fates lead to the pivotal Battle of Rozhanovce in 1312, revealing Matúš’s struggle to reconcile personal passions with the wider destiny of his region in European history.
