The Thought That Counts (2022)
Giovanni and Michele are two university students looking for a third roommate for their apartment. Giovanni, a medical student, is more interested in staging his amateur play, “The Laundry of Freud,” than in studying for his exams. Michele, an optimistic student who has fallen behind in his studies, spends his days moving from one party and one girl to another. When Asia unexpectedly shows up at their door, the three begin sharing an apartment and, gradually, their doubts, ambitions and insecurities. Between postponed exams, ambitious conversations, incurable melancholy and one coffee after another, they face an uncertain future as part of a generation struggling to find its own direction.
