Jorge Thielen Armand is a director, screenwriter and film producer. His third feature, Death Has No Master, starring Asia Argento, premiered at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival Directors' Fortnight and is Venezuela's official submission for Best International Feature at the 99th Academy Awards. His earlier work includes La Soledad (Venice Film Festival, 2016), La Fortaleza (International Film Festival Rotterdam, 2020), and Pasta Negra (Sundance, 2025). He is a founding partner of La Faena, a production company based in Caracas and Toronto. In 2021 he was awarded the Guggenheim Fellowship.
