Laís Melo is a screenwriter, director, art director and popular cinema educator. In her work, she researches the reverberation of violence and the possibilities of reinventing the lives of working-class bodies. Her first short film, “I Tried”, was awarded best film, photography and performance at the 50th Brasília Festival, among others. She completed the short film “I Left Myself There” and her first feature film, “Knot”, completed in early 2025. She is the art director of several feature films and two series.
