Biography:

Aadnan Imtiaz Ahmed is an independent film producer from Bangladesh committed to auteur-driven and socially engaged cinema. He has collaborated with Bangladeshi filmmakers including Rubaiyat Hossain, Ashique Mostafa, Mahde Hasan, Aung Rakhine and Rajib Rafi. Aadnan’s continuing collaboration with Rubaiyat Hossain most recently resulted in the international co-production The Difficult Bride (2026). The film began its festival journey in the Orizzonti Competition at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, becoming the first Bangladeshi feature selected in the festival’s history. It was later presented in the Centrepiece programme of the Toronto International Film Festival and the Official Competition of the BFI London Film Festival. Aadnan also produced Mahde Hasan’s debut feature Sand City (2025), winner of the Proxima Grand Prix at the 59th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. The film was subsequently selected for A Window on Asian Cinema at the Busan International Film Festival and the International Competition of the Cairo International Film Festival. He produced Rajib Rafi’s short film Once Upon a Time in Wari Bateshwar, which premiered in competition at the 2025 Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival. His earlier producing and co-producing credits include Rubaiyat Hossain’s Made in Bangladesh and Aung Rakhine’s The Last Post Office. Films produced by Aadnan have been presented at festivals including Venice, Toronto, BFI London, Karlovy Vary, Busan, Cairo, Locarno, Rotterdam, Clermont-Ferrand and Tampere. Aadnan is an alumnus of the EAVE Producers Workshop, Rotterdam Lab, Locarno Open Doors Lab, Produire au Sud in Nantes and DPC II in Athens.
