Bryan Bartlett

Biography:

Bryan Bartlett is a senior compositor at Industrial Light & Magic (ILM). He has worked extensively in feature films, streaming series, and broadcast productions, progressing from early roles as a digital compositor and 2D artist to senior and supervisory positions at major visual effects facilities including ILM, MPC, The Mill, Weta FX, and Mill Film. Bartlett's early career included work on British and international television and film projects, including Doctor Who (2006-2010), Torchwood (2007-2008), The Sarah Jane Adventures (2007), and 28 Weeks Later (2007). He contributed to a wide range of feature films during this period, including Les Misérables (2012), The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012), Dredd (2012), Snow White and the Huntsman (2012), World War Z (2013), and Guardians of the Galaxy (2014). From the mid-2010s onward, Bartlett became increasingly involved in large-scale studio productions and major franchises, which include The Jungle Book (2016), Ready Player One (2018), Star Wars: Episode VIII – The Last Jedi (2017), Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018), Aladdin (2019), Spider-Man: Far from Home (2019), Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker (2019), and Jurassic World: Dominion (2022). At ILM, Bartlett has served as senior compositor or digital artist on numerous high-profile productions, including The Mandalorian (2019), The Stand (2020), Eternals (2021), No Time to Die (2021), F9: The Fast Saga (2021), The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022), Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One (2023), and Avengers: Doomsday (2026). Bartlett was nominated for a Visual Effects Society Award in 2009 for Outstanding Matte Paintings in a Broadcast Program or Commercial for Merlin (2008), specifically for the episode "The Mark of Nimueh" from series one, shared with Dave Early, Simon Wicker, and Sara Bennett.
